Life
presents many attractive opportunities we should avoid, much game
that it would be folly to hunt. How do the wise learn to distinguish
between what we should and shouldn't chase? What do you think Marcus
would say?

τὰ ἀδύνατα διώκειν μανικόν· ἀδύνατον
δὲ τὸ τοὺς φαύλους μὴ τοιαῦτά τινα
ποιεῖν.
Pursuing
impossible things is insane, but fools cannot help doing it anyway.
